Reinventing the Ordinary

I am reinventing myself.

Subsequently, I will no longer be a proofreader, copy editor, ghostwriter, mom, blogger, or wife to a husband who works abroad.

Professionally, I am now:

a word watchman and typo terminator.

a narrative navigator and linguistic locksmith.

a prose proxy and tale transcriber.

In my personal capacity, I am:

a diplomat, ineptly negotiating treat-for-chore deals.

an amateur codebreaker trying to decipher the inner workings of an 8-year-old’s mind.

a modern-day diarist, oversharing their musings with whoever wants to read them.

a one-person media empire, running a tight ship of exactly one writer, editor and distribution team.

a pen pal with a (mysterious) lover who visits occasionally.

One thing that remains consistent:

I am a map reader in a GPS world (or I follow my nose).

Nothing beats a bit of pretentious whimsy. It always makes me smile.

Intrepidly,

Anni
